I found this goodie on YouTube. The Ramones performing Judy is a Punk in '74 at CBGBs. I met with the creator of the legendary venue recently, so I'll give you a quick history lesson on the accident that became the punk phenomenom of the late seventies:
In the early seventies, folk singer/entrepreneur Hilly Krystal bought a cheap space on Bowery and 2nd St. His plan was to develop it into an artist's bar where downtown painters and sculptors could meet and discuss their work, but to his dismay, "Hilly's on 2nd" became a drinking spot for bowery bums and lonely old men. Krystal changed the name of his establishment to CBGB (Country BlueGrass Blues), and began booking local folk acts to play on a stage that he built out of supplies he found on the street. The first punk act to play CBGBs was a band called Television, and they were awful. Krystal allowed them to come back a second time, which is when they brought The Ramones to open for them. Check out the video below. Slowly, CBGBs began churning out acts like Patti Smith, Blondie and The Talking Heads. Krystal's original plan of a folk bar had failed, and the punk scene emerged in its place.

But this YouTube video is wild. This must have been shot before The Ramones fan base existed, as Tommy Ramone is still in the band. Check out how young and healty Dee Dee looks, and compare that to his coked out state of later years. If anyone saw End of the Century, you know what I'm talking about.

nice! Television might've sucked back in 74 but lord knows they improved enough to record probably the best album of the 70's Marquee Moon. :)
