Favourite Sons

Composed of veteran musicians from lesser known bands of the 90's, Favourite Sons recently released their debut album on Vice Records. Their folk rock songs invoke loneliness and triumph simultaneously, as they catapult listeners into an enjoyable feeling of emptiness. Lead singer Ken Griffen is often compared to Lou Reed of The Velvet Underground, but I think he sounds more like Johnny Cash - - Just replace Fulton Prison with a Brooklyn walk-up. You can pick up the debut album here.
