Ah, my favorite guilty pleasure is back on TV. I recieved a package from the people over at The OC the other day with the first four episodes of the upcoming season. Since the main teenage characters have either graduated or died, I was a little worried about this season. Well, thanks to the clever writing of Josh Schwartz and his team, I'm glad to report that the new season is hardly forced, and full of juicy new drama. The show takes a darker turn, as the death of Marissa looms over the main characters.
I was given permission to "blog premiere" the first few minutes of the first episode on FreeIndie. Here it is:
The new season starts on November 2nd at 9 PM.
The music playing in the background of that clip is Placebo - Running Up that Hill. The first few episodes will include music from Alexi Murdoch, Editors, and Band of Horses. Check out Stereogum for a full list of artists.

@duckyxdale: the song is actually originally by kate bush, 1985. covered by placebo, wt and probably a lot other of bands.

Oh my gosh! What the heck is going on with the oc this season, marissa is dead, seth doesnt go to college, he goes to work in a stupid comic book store (i still love him though and adam brody himself) and good for summer that she is actually going to college! (shes my role model, hehe) and especially ryan! i mean sure, hes good at fighting but cage fighting! cmon! get real babe (i still love ben mckenzie himself though)

The new OC is brillant,(well only seen 1st episode) the 3rd season was lik running a bit dry, but with that anoying slapper Marisa out of the way its going to be the best season yet

hey all, yeah unfortunately i missed out on the new season premiere, but i am going crazy trying to find out the name of the song played on the ad where it shows marissa's lil sister taking over. You just cannot imagine how much is like my life the O.C. I am from Malta in Europe...I do not think you really know where it is...but here we really love O.C. Cool stories about us youths. We see the O.C. when it is shown on Italy's TV stations or else rent the DVDs from the shops. Keep it up all you writers of O.C.

Ok so I was worried too! I couldn't imagine what they could do without Marissa but the first episode totally surprised me!! It was amazing and I loved the dark style and they way they went back in time!! It was a nice touch!

Ok, I tried to read through all of the previous posts, but I wanted to set something straight here. I saw about 6 different songs mentioned as the song playing when Marissa died... people, it's called "Into Dust" by Mazzy Star. There is a version on the The O.C. Mix CD, but it's by another group. Just look it up and download it or whatever... Mazzy Star "Into Dust". :D

I saw some comments on why marrissa was kicked off the o.c. the fact is, she wasnt kicked off, she herself didnt want to be on the show anymore, simply because she didn't want to be seen as a teen idol, and wanted to be recognized more as an adult.
